Getting ready for an important day
The 9th of February 2019 is an important day. It is when the EU’s Falsified Medicines Directive comes into force.
From this day, new and advanced barcodes and a common, European database will increase security throughout the supply chain in order to stop falsified medicines well before they reach patients.
To get ready, pharmaceutical companies and distributors all across Europe are currently investing millions in new machinery and IT systems. Abacus Medicine is of course part of this effort.
Mick Rasmussen, Serialization Project Lead at Abacus Medicine, says:
“Like most companies of our industry we are in the middle of implementing new IT infrastructure, solutions for production and warehouse, supply chain network setup, quality assurance, packaging material, regulatory compliance and much more.
It is a huge project, but we will be ready in time.”
We are happy to help, so please get in touch. Below you will find our main offices, but we have people covering all of Europe.
