Abacus Medicine is a business. We operate commercially, and our activities provide jobs, careers and livelihoods for hundreds of people in dozens of countries.
But we are more than that. When we compete in the market, we help lower prices on life-critical medicines so that they become more widely available. This gives us a purpose beyond ourselves and is something we can be proud of.
CEO & majority shareholder
Abacus Medicine is a family business. The company was established in 2004 by CEO Flemming Wagner and his father, Medical Director John Wagner. We have grown ever since. Today, you will find our offices and more than 1,000 people in a number of countries.
Our business model is based on the core principle of the free movement of goods in the EU’s single market. We invest heavily in entering new markets and in increasing the number of medicines that we hold a license to sell. Advanced IT systems for analysing Big Data in real time make us frontrunners in our industry.
Working at Abacus
I began my career at Abacus Medicine as a temporary worker in 2016. I liked the company, so not long after this I applied for a permanent position. I already knew as a temporary worker that this is a great place to work, and I have no regrets about choosing to continue my career here. I feel that my work is always valued and respected here. I therefore see Abacus Medicine as a secure place to work with countless opportunities for development.
